Raquel specializes in the field of workers’ compensation and has been a champion for the rights of injured workers for more than 30 years. Prior to joining Mitchell Law Corporation, she represented defendants for the legal teams of AIG, AT&T, Fremont Compensation, and other companies.
During her career, Raquel successfully overturned numerous bad-faith denials of claims, medical treatment, and benefits. She is particularly adept at negotiating, settling, and litigating complex cases that involve employment, insurance coverage, and catastrophic issues. She is also well versed in handling Uninsured Employers Fund (UEF) and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) cases.
As Senior Legal Hearing Representative at Mitchell Law, Raquel tenaciously advocates for injured workers and their rights to benefits under California Workers’ Compensation Law. Her efforts in challenging employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators have resulted in millions of dollars in settlements for clients, including many underrepresented and underprivileged clients who attained compensation for work-related injuries they weren't aware were available to them.
